Materials and Costume Design

Intermediate, Theory

Description

A 4-hour class dedicated to deepening our knowledge of materials and costume design. It’s not enough to simply gather pretty references, we must follow it up with a careful, open-minded visual analysis of those references, engage in pattern-recognition and follow the trail to wherever it leads.

  • Misconceptions relating to the metalness map within a PBR workflow.
  • What textile slubs are.
  • The Costumes and Characters of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
  • Conducting a careful, open-minded analysis of the types of materials that a character should wear.
  • A deep dive within the fascinating world of leather.
